Pledge for Imaging Professionals

New for 2026: Pledge to both Image Wisely^® and Image Gently^® in one place!

For Image Wisely^®, I pledge:

To convey the principles of the Image Wisely^® program to the imaging team to ensure that my facility prioritizes patients and safety through all aspects of medical imaging.
To put my patients' safety, health and welfare first by optimizing imaging examinations to use only the radiation necessary to produce diagnostic-quality images.
To communicate optimal patient imaging strategies to referring physicians, and to be available for consultation.
To routinely review imaging protocols to ensure that the least radiation necessary to acquire a diagnostic-quality image is used for each examination.
To monitor examination radiation dose indices to enable comparison to established diagnostic reference levels.

For Image Gently^®, I pledge:

To put my patients' welfare, including health, first by optimizing imaging examinations to use only the radiation necessary to produce diagnostic-quality images.
To partner with the imaging team as stewards of the principles of the Image Gently^® program to ensure that my facility prioritizes patient quality and safety through all aspects of medical imaging.
To respect suggestions from and engage every stakeholder of the imaging team on ways to ensure use of medical radiation is safe and effective.
To communicate optimal patient imaging strategies to referring physicians, and to be available for consultation to this end.
To routinely review imaging protocols to ensure that the appropriate radiation necessary to acquire a diagnostic-quality image is used for each examination.
