Fluoroscopic Worker Safety Is More Than Radiation Safety
Protecting staff who work with fluoroscopy requires a broader approach than simply monitoring radiation exposure. Worker safety programs should also address ergonomic injuries caused by heavy protective equipment, musculoskeletal strain from procedure positioning, fatigue, and other occupational hazards that can affect long-term health and job performance. By promoting a comprehensive safety culture that integrates radiation protection with ergonomic, physical, and workplace wellness considerations, healthcare organizations can better safeguard fluoroscopy personnel and improve overall workforce well-being.
