The Joint Commission Publishes Clarification to New Requirements for CT Technologists

Apr. 8, 2016 — The Joint Commission has published a clarification to its new requirements for accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals, and ambulatory care organizations that provide diagnostic imaging services. A note in the new standards points out that, beginning Jan. 1, 2018, technologists performing computed tomography (CT) exams will be expected to have advanced-level CT certification. Before introducing this new requirement for 2018, the Joint Commission will provide more information.
