The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists responds to an Article Questioning Low-Dose Radiation’s Long-Term Effects on Patients and Practitioners.

Apr. 18, 2016 — The ARRT responded to an article published online in the American Journal of Clinical Oncology which repudiated the linear no-threshold (LNT) model for estimating the potential cancer risks from varying levels of exposure to radiation. For the present, ARRT will continue to base its certification and registration requirements on recommendations and regulations promulgated by entities such as the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP).
